How to Earn Money Online

Although there are many ways to earn online, there are really only two.

Many ways
There are complicated ways (e.g. start a web-based shop) and there are simple ways (e.g. selling things on eBay). There are ethical ways (e.g. find employment as a typist) and there are unethical ways. There are ways of earning a lot (e.g. Affiliate marketing) and many ways of earning a little. There are ways of earning money fast (e.g. paid online surveys) and ways that take longer (e.g. Blog marketing). There are ways that involve online and offline work (e.g. promoting your offline business) or online only (e.g. Internet marketing). Some ways are expensive to get started and some cost very little (e.g. Bum marketing). Like the real world, you can earn online by being employed to perform work or you can take some initiative and try something entrepreneurial. This may involve more risk, but if successful, it will probably reward you more handsomely. The question is how do you want to earn online and what are you looking for?

Two ways
Like the offline world, you can have a go and learn through your experience, or you can get a formal education. Also like the real world the best way is probably somewhere in between the two; getting a hands on practical training, where you are mentored as you put into practice what you learn. Essentially then, there are two ways; either doing things properly by getting trained, or just ‘having a go’. One way is simpler, more likely to be ethical (since you know how to earn without being unethical), more lucrative, often faster, entirely online, cheaper in the long run, less risky and more rewarding. It pays to learn how to earn money online just as it pays to learn how to earn offline.

I have invested a lot in my offline career, investing in training to make myself attractive to potential employers. I have spent well over a decade at 4 different universities. I have had some good jobs and am accustomed to earning a well above average income. I have a large family who is dependent upon me. I have decided that equipping myself to do business on the Internet is a better long-term investment than continuing with traditional employment. So what have I done? You guessed it, I have enrolled at yet another university! I made a conscious decision to learn how to earn money online. This university is unlike any that I have previously enrolled with; and what are they teaching me? They are training me, in very practical ways how to earn money online.

They have shown me that setting up an Internet business is not a pipe dream, but an easily achievable task (providing that you are prepared to work at it). An Internet business within a specific niche market can provide you the ability to earn a $ five-figure monthly salary. They have also shown me that it is not as simple as it might at first appear.

Do yourself a favour, if you want to earn online, get your first step right by paying just a little to get a decent training. Not only could it save you a lot, it could earn you a lot too. So before you set forth, get some training and learn how to earn money online.

How to Earn Money Online – Terminology, Part 3

Yes, part 3. That is how many “out of the ordinary” terms there are for the make money from home and internet marketing business. These articles are written for the novice internet marketers.

Keep in mind; this is my definition of terms, not an official definition from any dictionary. I am also making this brief, as many of these terms require their own articles.

This article will mainly focus on blogging. What a name. I’m not sure if Webster has picked this up as a word yet, but if they haven’t, it’s just a matter of time.

When I first started out trying to make money online, there were a handful of things I had my mind set that I would not do. Having a blog was one of them. For some reason, it was intimidating to me and it also meant I had to be social and talk to people. As all things evolve, I decided that I needed to start a blog. It is simple. In hindsight, I could kick myself.

With creating my blog came a whole new list of terminology. So, let’s get to it.

Blog: Blog is a combination of the words Web and Log. It’s also referred to as an “online journal” or “chronicle of information”. The owner or publisher of the blog makes posts and you as the reader, can make comments. In other words, it is interactive. A blog is also a common way for internet marketers to sell information or products; either their own or as an affiliate marketer. There are many types of blogs; personal, business, political, etc.

Blogger: Someone who blogs.

Blog Post: A blog post can be made by the owner or publisher of a blog or by a person posting a comment to someone else’s blog post.

Blog Syndication: Some blogs have an RSS Feed (see terminology, part 2 article.) The Feeds picks up the updated content and distributes it to the individuals that subscribe to that particular Feed and to the Search Engines.

Ping: No, this is not golf equipment. Pings let the search engines know that your blog has been updated. There are several services out there that will “ping” your blog when you update or add new content. You can also add a widget (widget’s are coming up) to your blog that will control the pings automatically.

WordPress: WordPress is a software publishing platform for blogs. Anything and everything a blog can do, they have created. This includes the behind the scenes software to the very creative themes to make your blog’s appearance unique.

Plug-Ins: Plug-Ins are tools that make your blog function. There are thousands to choose from. Of course, there are some that are more useful and popular than others. There are many lists available for the standard plug-ins. Blogs have several plug-ins.

Widgets: A widget is a tool that helps you perform a specific task. Examples: Ping widget that knows when to automatically ping, without over-pinging. Opt-in box widget allows you to easily add an opt-in box on your blog. You can add several widgets to your blog.

Weebly: A service that allows you to create a free website or blog.

Squidoo: Very popular site. This is where you go to create a webpage, which is referred to as a “lens.” Your lens can be on any subject you wish, within the guidelines and must be approved for publication. This is a free website that receives a tremendous amount of web traffic. It is beneficial with the Search Engines to link your lens to your blog. Many people use their lens to earn an income.

HubPages: Similar to Squidoo. HubPages is also a free service.

There are many other services that allow you to create blogs or webpages. I only commented on the unusually named ones. The ones I listed are referred to frequently and it is nice to have at least a basic understanding.

I hope this information has been useful. I try to keep it light hearted, yet informative. The making money online and internet marketing business can be stressful.

Keep a sense of humor and I will be back with my next article; How To Earn Money Online – Terminology, Part 4. The odd and unusual terms just never end.

Learn How to Earn Money Online to Pay the Bills

This recession is very hard on many of us. Countless of people lost their jobs and many more will come. Needless to say, finance is a though subject for most people all around the world. Well, if you can’t find a job, you can learn how to earn money online.

No, this is not one of those “make money while you sleep” kind of deals (or rather SCAMS). In fact, in order to be successful online, you’re going to have to work damn hard at it! If you’re not willing or able to spend at least 2 hours every day with commitment, I’ll save you some time and advice you to stop reading now.

Still reading? Good!

Before I tell you more about how to earn money online, I simply must tell you this: You don’t need any special skills or talents, you don’t need any technical knowledge or programing skills and you don’t need a marketing degree. Heck, you don’t even have to be all that smart! All you really need to be successful online, is a computer with access to the Internet.

So, on to how to earn money online. I have two words for you: Internet Marketing. If these words scare you a little, read the last paragraph again if you need to. Believe me, if you found this article on the internet, you have the skill to earn money online.

Internet Marketing has been around for over a decade, but it wasn’t until today that anyone can learn how to earn money online and actually make money online. With all the tools and techniques available today, you don’t need any technical skills or programing experience. All you need is a little education and once you understand the process, it’s really quite easy to do and it will likely become a second nature to you.

How Does It Work?

To become a successful Internet Marketer, you need 3 things. A website (with the right tools, you can set up a complete website in seconds), a product to sell (we’ll get to that in a sec.) and, of course, people to sell to.

You’re going to sell “Affiliate Products”. Affiliate products are awesome. All you need is a ClickBank account and you’ll have access to over 100,000 affiliate products you can promote this very minute. You don’t need to take care of the shipping, or even the payments. All you need to do is set up a website about how amazing the product is.

You can literally sell anything you want. If you love rollerblades, sell them. If you love old horror flicks, sell them! If you want to sell sunshades for a Valtra 8550 tractor, go ahead (I actually sold these once).

Once you have a website about how the product will benefit your audience, you need to drive as much RELEVANT traffic to your site as possible. Note that I put the word “relevant” in capitals. I didn’t do that for nothing. The key to online success is relevance. Don’t drive people who are looking for sunglasses to a website that is selling guitars.

The best way to drive relevant traffic to your website, is to write articles (like this one). If you’re selling guitars, write articles about how to buy a guitar. People who are interested in buying a guitar will read your article and will probably click on the link to your website afterward.

Also, the more articles you’ll write the better your website will be ranked in search engines like Google and Yahoo, generating even more traffic and making you more money!

An that’s how to earn money online. It’s basically just like a store in the mall. You need a store (a website), products and people to go to your store.
